|Main Body||This session provides an overview of the principles of health and safety auditing and the development and implementation of a practical audit program for all workplaces including industrial and commercial buildings. Software used to document audit findings and monitor the progress in addressing action items resulting from the audits will also be discussed.|
A number of potential health and safety issues and hazards exist in workplaces. Owners, employers and employees are required by federal and provincial regulations and codes to address these risks, such as machine guarding, lockout/tagout, fire safety, fall protection, contractor management, and the storage of flammable and hazardous materials.
Periodic health and safety audits provide a useful tool to identify and prioritize potential risks and liabilities, and to develop strategies for mitigating risks to protect employees, buildings, equipment and other key assets. This Seminar will provide guidance on how to set up an audit program, and provide guidelines for doing effective safety audits.
