(TORONTO) — 30 Forensic Engineering, Canada’s leading and fully-independent multi-disciplinary forensics firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Karen Lin, M.Eng., P.Eng. as Senior Associate within the Civil/Structural group.
Karen brings over 20 years of engineering experience to the firm, including 15 years working with municipalities as a certified building official, qualified in inspecting all building categories as specified within the building code.
Over the past 15 years, Karen has amassed extensive experience reviewing and inspecting various types of buildings including assembly, office, mercantile and industrial occupancies in accordance with the building code and referenced fire code and standards. She has also conducted numerous building life safety inspections of high-rise, complex and mixed use buildings including fire separations, fire alarm and sprinkler systems. She is also experienced in assessing the structural, plumbing, HVAC, and the energy efficiency of residential and other small commercial buildings.
In addition, Karen has provided numerous expert reports in reviewing the responsibilities of various parties involved in building design (structural failure and design deficiencies), construction and inspections as mandated by the Building Code Act.
