CEP Ottawa now offering Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Services

Ottawa, ON – October 2016 – CEP is pleased to announce that our clients will now benefit from services in Materials and Metallurgical Engineering from our Ottawa office. “To better assist our clients and to cater to the growing demand, we felt it was time to add a Materials Engineering resource to our office, says Joël Turcotte, P. Eng., Regional Director, Ottawa. “By relocating Mr. Alain Abou Antoun, Jr. Eng., M. Eng, to the Ottawa office, we are broadening our services offered and ensuring improved regional coverage of Materials Engineering in Ontario.”
Alain joined CEP’s Metallurgical and Materials team at the company’s headquarters in Montreal (Laval), back in 2014. He holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with specialization in fracture analysis and fatigue failure of materials from École Polytechnique de Montréal and completed his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering at the American University of Beirut. The diversity of his background has enabled Alain to deal with cases using multiple approaches. Furthermore, his higher education helped him develop skills related to the subject of materials, especially in metallurgy and fatigue of metallic materials.
“The experience acquired during the last couple of years has allowed Alain to perform fracture analysis, from the investigation of residential plumbing failures to the analysis of catastrophic industrial equipment fracture and dysfunction”, states Isabelle Murray, P.Eng., M.A.Sc., Metallurgist, CEP Team Leader in Materials Engineering and Chemistry.
