Crawford Cares Raises More than $330,000 for WICC

Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc. hosted a luncheon in honour of WICC (Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade) on February 9, 2010. John Sharoun, Crawfords chief executive officer, presented a cheque in the amount of $80,661.95 to the WICC board of directors on behalf of Crawfords charitable initiative, Crawford Cares.
In past years, Crawfords employees have raised between $50,000 and $55,000 annually for WICC. This years donation increased by over 50 per cent, to an astounding $80,661.95. Since the inception of Crawford Cares in January 2004, Crawford has raised more than $330,000 for WICC.
Crawford employees threw their hats into the ring and raised the bar this year, said Sharoun during the cheque presentation. The addition of the Relay for Life event also really boosted our employees enthusiasm and fundraising efforts. We had a wonderful time staying up all night, honouring friends and loved ones, and for that event alone, employees and Crawford branches across Canada raised more than $25,000.
Steve Anderson, senior vice president, Corporate Markets and Administration, added: This year more than any other year, our employees completely embraced WICC and Crawford Cares. They jumped in whole-heartedly and participated in various fundraisers, payroll deductions, the Relay for Life and other activities. I really dont think we can express how proud we are of our staff and all of the efforts they consistently make for this wonderful cause.
