Gary Hirst Appointed President and Chief Executive Officer of CHES Special Risk Inc.

Toronto, Ontario – The Board of CHES Special Risk Inc. today announced the appointment of Gary Hirst as President and Chief Executive Officer of CHES Special Risk Inc., with immediate effect.

The Board of CHES Special Risk Inc. is pleased to announce the appointment of Gary Hirst as the President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing Douglas Everett, President and founder of CHES, who now takes on responsibilities as a Director of the Board.

Hirst has extensive Canadian and international insurance experience gained in over 30 years of Lloyd’s of London market broking and the establishment of and management of an MGA here in Canada.

‘Gary is a strong addition to the Board of CHES and has the talent, expertise and leadership skills required to capitalize on the successes that the company has enjoyed over the past 18 months since he joined the team,’ said Doug Everett, Director of CHES Special Risk Inc.

‘He has already grown the number of new and exclusive markets that we have in our arsenal, as well as a product range of coverage, to in excess of 200 items, spanning all classes of insurance, much to the delight of our Retail Broker Partners, who are winning new business as a consequence.’

Hirst has already established experienced underwriting teams operating out of two underwriting centers, which CHES currently operate in Ontario, with plans to extend the CHES franchise to the remaining territories and provinces over the next few months.
