Industry veteran Ed Weidmann named Chairman of U.S. Industry Advisory Board of Accident Support Services International Ltd.

September 6, 2016   by Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI)

Roanoke, Virginia – September 6, 2016 – Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ed Weidmann as Chairman of its U.S. Industry Advisory Board as the company prepares to open the first of many planned U.S. Collision Reporting Centers in Roanoke, VA in September 2016.

Mr. Weidmann is well known and highly respected within the auto insurance claims and supply chain industries, having recently retired from an impressive 39 year career with State Farm Insurance Company in which he developed and managed programs relating to auto glass claims processing, Emergency Road Service and tow services, rental cars, mobile audio replacement and paintless dent repair administration. During this time he also developed extensive expertise in vehicle estimating and total loss products.

Ed will assist in the implementation of ASSI’s Collision Reporting Center (CRC) program in the U.S. by promoting and encouraging carrier participation upon which the program is dependent. In his capacity as Chairman of the Industry Advisory Board, Ed will assist in recruiting Board members and provide leadership and direction to ensure the company is providing maximum value to the insurance industry. His efforts will promote ASSI’s innovative First Notice of Loss and accident reporting service that accelerates the claim and triage process and fully and accurately documents accident details while controlling costs and enhancing the customer experience as collisions are reported to police at the Collision Reporting Center.

Ed will work closely with Steve Sanderson, founder and President of ASSI, Kenneth Eagleson, appointed this month as Vice President U.S. Insurance Programs, and the entire ASSI operations team.

In addition to his State Farm accomplishments, Ed has been an active member of multiple industry boards and advisory councils and served as Chairman of the Board of the Collision Industry Electronic Commerce Association. Ed is a graduate of Illinois State University and holds the designations of Certified Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and the Fellow, Life Management Institute.

”I am very excited about joining the ASSI team”, Ed said. “ASSI’s Collision Reporting Centers can now document important details of a loss immediately after a collision. This will help claim representatives determine liability more easily and will minimize the possibility of a driver forgetting valuable details of a collision. ASSI’s Collision Reporting Centers will also document any injuries that resulted from the collision and provide information that will help insurance companies identify possible fraud.”

Steve Sanderson, founder and President of ASSI said, “As we open in the U.S., we felt that we needed the guidance of a carrier industry leader who would care about continuously improving the Collision Reporting Center program so that it brings benefit to the insurance industry. Ed Weidmann is that leader, a true insurance professional. He cares. He has developed relationships throughout his career with honesty, integrity and good old fashioned hard work. We are delighted to be working with Ed as we move forward with our plans. “
