Toronto, Ontario – June, 2017

Accident Support Services International Ltd. (ASSI), facilitators of Collision Reporting to the Insurance Industry, are pleased to announce that the Oakville location of the Halton Collision Reporting Centre (CRC) will move from Bronte Road to 95 Oak Walk Drive, Oakville, L6H 0G6. The CRC will open in this new location at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2017.

The Halton Collision Reporting Centre at Oakville hours of operation are from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. This CRC is closed on weekends and statutory holidays. The CRC telephone number is 905-825-4640.

Accident Support Services International Ltd. operates three Collision Reporting Centres in partnership with the Halton Regional Police Service. The Burlington CRC is located at 3800 Constable Henshaw Blvd, open Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Saturdays, Sundays and Statutory Holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The Milton CRC is located at 490 Childs Drive and operates Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and  Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The Halton Collision Reporting Centres provide enhanced value to the public in the reporting of vehicle collisions. The “one-on-one” interview process simplifies reporting, and adds value to the customer service aspect. The CRC offers citizens the convenience of a safe, comfortable location to make their collision report. In addition, Accident Support Services’ staff completes the data entry for all official reports, capturing the information for analysis and focused policing initiatives. Police and Insurers have near real-time access to collision data and reports through ASSI’s Microsoft award winning ‘Collision Reporting & Occurrence Management System’ (CROMS). Police continue to investigate collisions at the scene that involve injuries, suspected criminal activity, or damage to private property. All collisions where the combined damage exceeds $2000 must be reported.

Upon arrival at the CRC, citizens are greeted by Accident Support Services’ staff, who provide help to complete the police report, apply the ‘Damage Reported to Police’ sticker, photograph damage to the vehicle, and offer the customer the opportunity to contact family, broker or insurance company directly from the Centre. The citizen is provided with one-stop service opportunity for all of their reporting needs. Police personnel are also available as needed to assist with the accident report.

The goal of ASSI is to facilitate an active partnership between the police and insurers in post-accident care by providing knowledgeable advice and assistance to accident victims with empathy, integrity and availability. This results in increased convenience for the public as well as greater road safety. Supporting insurers fund the program, and there is no cost to the police or public for these additional services.
