Vericlaim expands operations into Calgary
Monte Ponton joins expert team advancing strategic growth in the Canadian market
Calgary, September 13, 2016 – Sedgwick and its subsidiary Vericlaim, a global provider of loss adjusting and claims management solutions, are pleased to announce further Canadian expansion as the companies celebrate the newest office opening for Vericlaim in Calgary. In addition, industry expert Monte Ponton has joined the team as executive general adjuster.

Monte Ponton is licensed in all lines of insurance, and his areas of special expertise include liability, property, marine and motor vehicle loss adjustments. In his new role with Vericlaim Canada, Monte will work out of the new Calgary office and manage large losses, catastrophic and complex cases in Western Canada.
With approximately 37 years of experience as a qualified loss adjuster for both large international companies and smaller firms, Monte has conducted numerous investigations into loss circumstances in all areas of claims and risks, public, commercial (hotels) and governmental. He also has focused on risk management and large account control for hotels, department stores and government risks (public housing, airport), including recommendations on loss prevention, claim reporting procedures, securing vital documentation, record keeping, general incident logs and housekeeping/security issues. He also has performed damage assessments, negotiations and settlements with third parties and attorneys.
Monte holds an associate degree from the Insurance Institute of Canada. He earned his full adjuster license in Ontario in 1979 and is a member of the International Institute of Loss Adjusters.
