Chubb has announced a partnership with identity management and data theft service experts CyberScout to offer a fully complimentary array of identity management services to all Masterpiece homeowners in Canada.

Chubb said in a press release that Cyberscout services provide Chubb Masterpiece customers with help in three areas: identity theft recovery, defence and education. “Chubb customers now have direct access to highly experienced fraud specialists,” the release said, adding that these services “go hand-in-hand with Chubb’s broad personal liability and identity fraud product and service capabilities.”

Background information from Chubb said that services include:

  • Systematic notification and assistance with filing a police report, creating a fraud victim affidavit and developing a comprehensive case file for investigative and claim-handling purposes;
  • Assistance with all documentation and phone calls needed to resolve a case;
  • Assistance for victims of wallet and purse theft, natural disasters or home fires that have lost personal identification or legal or financial documents; and
  • An additional year of active follow-up service to avoid recurrence.

“With over 26% of Canadians falling victim to identity fraud and almost 7% being victims of identity theft, we wanted to further our commitment to preserving our clients’ well-being and way of life by offering a resource to combat these threats,” said Paul Johnstone, senior vice president for Chubb Personal Risk Services, Canada. “Now, through CyberScout, our customers will have access to the tools, resources and industry leading experts to help prevent and if needed, resolve these situations as quickly as possible.”

Formerly IDT911, CyberScout offers identity management; breach education, preparation, response and remediation; fraud, credit and reputation monitoring; and cybersecurity and data privacy consulting.
