The Canadian Independent Adjusters’ Association and Property Claim Services (PCS), part of Verisk Analytics, have partnered to allow CIAA members access to catastrophe loss information.

All CIAA members will have access to PCS Canada’s cat loss information, which is says “will help independent adjusting firms plan for catastrophe events, allocate resources more effectively, and reduce cycle time, ultimately contributing to lower loss adjustment expense.”

The two organizations will also partner on conference participation and “thought leadership programs,” according to PCS.

The CIAA will also provide post catastrophe-event insights, as well as photos, videos and commentary from adjusters on the ground.

“PCS team members will also participate in ‘ride-alongs’ to help enhance on-the-ground damage assessments and other important business insights for the Canadian insurance industry,” according to the firm.

The CIAA will also collaborate with PCS for an enhanced PCS Canada mobile app that will let adjusters upload, share and view content from catastrophe sites.

“We’re always looking for ways to further support our membership,” Pat Battle, executive director of the CIAA said in the announcement Wednesday.

“The information and tools our members will receive through this relationship will support their efforts to quickly assess the impact and opportunities to their firms after catastrophes as well as improve the service they’re able to deliver to their clients. It’s a win-win for everyone.”
