Economical rolls out eDocs for broker partners

Economical Insurance announced Wednesday it has made eDocs an option for its broker partners across Canada that are using certain broker management systems. 

The Waterloo, Ont.-based insurer said eDocs are now an option for those using the following systems:

• Deltek
• Epic
• Power Broker
• sigXP
• The Agency Manager (TAM)
• The Broker’s Workstation (TBW)

“Our brokers can now choose to receive electronic copies in the CSIO XML format of their personal auto, personal property and individually rated commercial auto broker declarations in their daily download from Economical Insurance, Economical Select, Assurance Economical, Perth Insurance and Western General,” said Jorge Arruda, the insurer’s senior vice president of sales, distribution and underwriting operations.

“eDocs is a huge time and energy saver for our broker partners,” Arruda noted. “Automatically pushing electronic policy declaration pages to our brokers is a much more efficient and streamlined process for our brokers than the alternative, which was to pull them from our system.

There are fewer touches required to get documents into their broker management system where the critical information is readily available to all staff in the broker’s operations. Brokers who elect to turn on the eDocs option will no longer receive print copies of documents they will receive electronically, which helps keep the trees standing.”

Before rolling out its eDocs offering, Economical conducted a pilot with eight broker partners.

“We are particularly grateful to the BMS vendors and to the brokers who participated in our pilot implementation,” Arruda said. “Their feedback was critical in the testing process, which went a long way in preparing our eDocs solution to deliver on expectations.

“Our eDocs solution will be delivered by our dedicated team of broker solutions specialists who work closely with our broker partners and know their workflow needs and system requirements. Their knowledge of broker workflows and systems will ensure a seamless integration of the eDocs solution into their workflow.”
