The Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO) announced on Friday that United Kingdom-based insurance software provider Insly Ltd. has achieved CSIO certification for its personal lines eDocs solution.

CSIO certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors

Insly was introduced to the Canadian P&C insurance market through the help of Port Coquitlam, British Columbia-based InsureLine. “When we brought Insly to Canada, we recognized that assisting them to achieve CSIO Certification for eDocs would be a critical step in giving us confidence to move forward with this platform as the backbone for our business,” noted Aly Kanji, president & CEO of InsureLine in a statement from Toronto-based CSIO. “Certification proves that Insly’s eDocs solution is leveraging the CSIO standards to full effect, which inspires confidence in the efficiency and interoperability of the solution.”

When eDocs are used to their full potential, sending, receiving, sorting, scanning and destroying paper is no longer necessary, saving the industry “significant” amounts of time and money, CSIO said in the statement. As well, brokers can use the CSIO eDocs Savings Calculator to determine their daily, monthly and yearly savings in time and money from adopting eDocs.

CSIO certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors.

Robert Kokk, chief operating officer at Insly, said that the company was “eager to obtain CSIO eDocs certification for Insly. Having automated and efficient processes is our absolute goal when entering the Canadian insurance market together with our partner InsureLine.”

InsureLine currently operates in B.C., “but it working on expanding its presence across Canada.”
