Formed in 2000 as a strategic partnership of general insurance brokers operating throughout the Maritimes, IIBI’s partners are dedicated to providing professional service and superior insurance products to their respective customers, IIBI announced in a statement Friday.

IIBI represents all major Canadian general insurance companies and has members across Nova Scotia and New Brunswick.

MacDougall’s Insurance, for its part, offers auto, house, business and life & health insurance.

“Allan MacDougall is a like-minded, independent insurance broker and a great fit to our group,” IIBI president Bruce Lipsett says in the statement.

“Looking ahead, the strategic alliance with progressive brokers provided through IIBI is excellent for my brokerage and our clients,” comments Allan MacDougall, president of MacDougall’s Insurance.

“I look forward to contributing to the continued success and growth of this group of brokers. Working together, we will ensure the health of the broker channel in the region to continue providing expert advice and choice for our customers,” MacDougall continues.

The IIBI website notes the group dynamic allows members to respond proactively to the changing needs of their respective clientele, and IIBI is positioned to leverage the recent and ongoing changes in the insurance industry.
