Specialty legal expense insurer DAS Canada has launched a new product to help protect small businesses from major legal costs associated with their commercial vehicles.

DAStransport is meant to “fill the gaps in traditional commercial vehicle insurance coverage,” the company explained in a statement.

The new policy covers both businesses and drivers and all necessary legal costs associated with traffic ticket defence, driver’s licence protection, auto contract disputes and commercial safety violations.

“DAStransport policy holders have unlimited access to the insurer’s legal advice hotline, which enables them to get answers to their legal questions and be connected to a lawyer who specializes in that area,” added Barbara Haynes, the company’s CEO.

Coverage is available across Canada for taxis, limousines, trucks, cars and any other commercial vehicles, according to DAS Canada.
