Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company has become the 40th property and casualty insurance company to become a member of the Centre for Study of Insurance Operations (CSIO).
CSIO is Canada’s national standards association of property and casualty insurance companies, broker management system/vendors and independent insurance brokers. It oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of industry standards in the area of XML, EDI, electronic/paper forms and web screens.
CSIO is currently signing up insurance companies to participate in a new Web portal, intended to offer brokers “single sign-on” access to participating insurers and allow brokers to quote and submit all new business online.
David Patrick, the CEO of CSIO, says CSIO is “very pleased to have Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company, a strong supporter of the independent broker distribution channel, become part of our team. With the proliferation of e-business solutions, CSIO’s continued development of XML Standards is more important than ever to support companies like Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company.”
According to Alan Simpson, the general manager of Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company, “joining the CSIO membership allows our company to create greater efficiencies in the transfer of data with our brokers, ultimately improving our brokers` ability to service the needs of our policy holders.
Peel Maryborough Mutual Insurance Company was founded in 1887 by its policyholders in Drayton, Ontario. It is represented by more than 30 independent insurance brokers in Ontario.
