Global insurance broker and risk advisor Willis Group has partnered with Presage Group, a technology firm that providers Enterprise Behavioral Risk Management (EBRM) tools, to offer loss prevention services to its clients.

Risk

EBRM looks at what drives behavior and actions, to better understand people’s decision-making and its impact on workplace safety, Willis explained in a statement. This is especially crucial since the majority of accidents are due to human error, the company said.

Presage offers proprietary software and data gathering to offer early detection and warning to companies for mitigating behavioral risk proactively. “The system identifies who is at risk, why they are at risk, and where solutions need to be applied to keep employees safe and compliant,” Willis said in its statement.

The system offered by Presage works across various industries, Willis said. A large electrical utility, for example, was able to reduce injuries by 17% and eliminate workplace fatalities, and a large food processor was able to eliminate product recalls for 10 years and eliminate loss-time injuries for a year, according to Willis.

Willis will now be offering its clients access to the tool for their risk management and loss control agenda. Once certain risks are determined using Presage, Willis can work with clients to implement solutions, such as developing training programs and making procedural design changes, the company said.

“Willis is excited to partner with Presage and deliver a powerful tool to help firms eliminate threats associated with human error,” Eric Joost, chief executive of Willis North America Specialties commented in the statement.

“Industries demand a sophisticated tool and methodology for managing the direct and indirect costs associated with human error and the Presage solution represents an opportunity to significantly and proactively reduce human errors in the workplace,” he said. “ When combined with Willis’ platform, we think this will deliver true value for clients.”
