The Honda Civic ranks as the most-often repaired vehicle in Ontario, according to data collected from all body shops using Audatex estimating software.
Art Lane, an Audatex district sales manager for Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan, posted the information on Twitter. Lane has a demo website, http://artielane.ca/demo, that is not endorsed or supported by Audatex.
Lane's Twitter post links to a list of the 25 most-often-repaired vehicles in Ontario, expressed as a percentage of cars reported by the body shops (the total number of vehicles in the survey is not listed).
After the Honda Civic (12%), the rest of the 'Top 10' includes the Dodge Caravan (8.9%), Toyota Corolla (8%), Toyota Camry (5.5%), Honda Accord (5.3%), Ford F-150 (5.3%), Mazda Mazda3 (4.9%), Ford Escape (3.9%), Ford Focus (3.7%), and Nissan Altima (3.3%).

I think it is irresponsible to report such statistics as "most often reapired" without representing a ratio to "most often purchased". I would be willing to bet that the top 10 list given here is pretty darn close to the top 10 list of registered vehicles in these provinces. Glad to see I am not the only one to respond in this way.

I agree with Nick but also, the 2 door Civic attracts a very young driver, mostly male. The inexperienced driver often changes the stock items on the vehicle making it unpredictable. Having said that, I still think it is overall popularity of the brand. How many Hummers are on the road?

Many people may read this as a negative factor for the vehicles listed but I'm sure it's mostly positive. This is for two main reasons. 1) these are popular models so there are relatively more of them on the roads, and 2) they are mechanically very reliable, last longer and are therefore worth repairing. My personal experience is with the Caravan. It's a 2002 model used every day, has 240,000 km on it and runs like a charm. The mechanic only sees it for regular maintenance and gushes about the Caravan's durability.
