Atlantic Canada’s Archway Insurance is joining forces with Halifax-based Jack & Co. Ltd. and its affiliate, AFC Insurance Services of Cole Harbour, in a move meant to enhance the capabilities and extend the reach for both entities.

The intent of the partnership “is to improve access to insuring markets for their personal and commercial clients, while leveraging Archway’s experienced team and strong regional brand,” notes a joint release from Archway Insurance, one of Atlantic Canada’s largest insurance brokerages, and Jack & Co., which opened its doors in 1860. The relationship between the two brokerages stretches back almost two decades.

“As a broker, Archway is committed to offering choice and being advocates for our clients,” emphasizes Archway Insurance president Gina McFetridge, who is also the current president of the Insurance Brokers Association of Nova Scotia.

“Our partnership is a win-win for both brokerages, but mainly for our clients who will enjoy security in size with continued quality of service,” Richard Bishop, president of Jack & Co., points out.

Archway Insurance, which is independent and Atlantic-owned, has almost two dozen offices; Jack & Co., one of the oldest in insurance brokerages in Canada, provides a suite of personal and commercial insurance products for autos, homes, businesses and professionals.

The Jack & Co. location in downtown Halifax will merge with the Archway Insurance’s office in Bayer’s Lake, and the AFC Insurance location in Cole Harbour will expand to welcome new and existing clients.

“We have tremendous respect for Richard Bishop and his team. We are excited to form this partnership that will see our brokerages officially come together,” McFetridge says.

With Jack and Co. joining Archway Insurance, it now has 23 locations serving all of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick. Archway Insurance expects to continue its growth strategy for the region through new business sales and brokerage purchases.
