Kernaghan Adjusters veteran retires

Raymond Smith, an insurance industry veteran with more than 45 years of experience, has decided to retire.

The vice president of marketing and executive adjuster with Kernaghan Adjusters formally retired after seven years with the firm, Kernaghan Adjusters said in a press release on Jan. 3.

Throughout his career, Smith has been appointed to a variety of high-level positions including claims manager, national casualty claims superintendent, executive adjuster and, most recently, vice president of marketing.

“He has a consistent reputation as a reliable trouble-shooter, skillful investigator and strong negotiator,” Kernaghan reported. “Ray has a special skill for bringing adversaries together and finding common ground for positive outcomes.”

 

ClaimsPro/IndemniPro strengthens Quebec leadership team

Independent adjusting firm ClaimsPro/IndemniPro has enhanced its leadership team in Quebec for the company’s Specialty Risk Division’s (SRD) complex commercial industrial unit (CCI).

Michael Martwo, vice president for SRD-CCI in Quebec and Eastern Canada, and Jean Yves Bernier, regional vice president of SRD-CCI, will provide senior leadership and direction for all technical aspects of Quebec’s CCI business unit. The unit receives regional support from vice presidents Eddy Zajac, Bernard Caron, Joey Dubois and Michel Girard, who provide guidance and technical expertise to CCI adjusters in the region.

CCI is ClaimsPro/IndemniPro’s national team of commercial loss professionals, handling a diverse portfolio of commercial losses across Canada and internationally. The Quebec team is a major specialty adjusting group in the region and the largest CCI group within Canada.

 

First General appoints new VP of strategic partnerships

First General has appointed Angela Veri to the position of executive vice president of strategic partnerships.

Veri, who previously worked with Vericlaim, will join the property restoration company’s corporate and regional team to enhance and execute sales strategies as well as strengthen consumer relations in all lines of business.

Her primary focus will be to strengthen and expand First General’s existing service lines for insurance-based businesses, broker-driven and corporate client programs across North America.

Veri’s accomplishments include the development of sales initiatives and sales training programs for claims, engineering, investigation and medical assessment firms.
