technology_sharingApplied Systems and Guidewire Software have launched renewed versions of their core software systems for the P&C insurance industry.

Applied Systems has released the newest version of its cloud-based client self-service software, CSR24. The update is currently available throughout Canada.

Enhanced features include a streamlined portal registration process that more easily integrates with a brokerage’s management system in order to reduce the amount of time staff spend in onboarding customers; the delivery of renewal certificates with a custom message directly from the application to customers; and the ability to provide a personalized consumer app experience that allows insured parties to update some of their data.

“Brokerage employees and consumers alike demand 24/7 access to information across all devices,” says Michael Howe, senior vice president of product management at Applied Systems, through the company’s announcement.

“The latest release of Applied CSR24 enables brokers to provide more seamless and intuitive customer self-service capabilities to their insureds via a cloud-based self-service application and branded mobile app, ensuring a better omnichannel customer experience, while ultimately solidifying the broker’s role as trusted advisor,” he adds.

Guidewire Software is also introducing its updated InsurancePlatform product to the market. Among its newer features, the company has increased self-service capabilities for policyholders and brokers through its digital portals tool. This includes the availability of a guided sales framework that contains initial classifying questions, which will drive insurance product recommendations. This feature is available to all users of Guidewire’s InsurancePlatform.

The company has also enhanced its underwriting workstation by creating a configurable homepage that underwriters can tailor to their personal preferences and updated its “claim canvas” feature so that it offers a fuller suite of data and visualizations for the most frequent and severe perils facing insurers. These features are available to Canadian customers who are using the English version of the InsurancePlatform.

“As insurers strive to adapt to ‘engagement era’ demands, they are re-imagining their interactions with customers and agents, and looking to more fully empower their insurance knowledge workers,” says Brian Vannoni, vice president of core operations at Guidewire Software, in a statement. “The technology platform they rely on to support these efforts becomes a foundation for engagement and innovation.”
