Auto body industry pushes back on B.C. attorney general’s comments

Eby — who was speaking about the Insurance Corporation of B.C.’s $1.3 billion deficit — said payments to auto body shops for repairs have gone up 30% in the last two years.

He said the province will make a decision soon on whether to cap what auto body shops can charge.

Ken McCormack, president of the Automotive Retailers Association, says costs have gone up because people are buying more expensive vehicles and auto parts have gotten pricier.
