CSIO’s Technology Scorecard compares brokerage adoption rates against provincial averages for the following technologies: eDocs, CSIOnet, eSignatures/call recording, TLS email security, brokerage website, mobile website, SEO, and social media.

Notable statistics include:

  • brokerage adoption of mobile-optimized websites increased by 16% nationally (53% in 2016 compared to 69% in 2017);
  • eDocs adoption increased by 7% nationally (70% in 2016 compared to 77% in 2017); and
  • eSignatures adoption increased by 6% nationally (5% in 2016 compared to 11% in 2017).

“As this update demonstrates, the broker channel has made steady progress in adopting digital solutions since the initial scorecard assessment in early 2015,” notes Catherine Smola, president & CEO of CSIO. “With the recent addition of My Proof of Insurance eDelivery to the CSIO Tech Scorecard, brokerages can be confident that – if they have adopted all of these technologies – they have established a sound foundation of technology upon which to serve their customers as effectively as possible.”

CSIO will update the scorecard annually to reflect current adoption rates.
