mergersBrokerLink has acquired Edmonton-based Allied Insurance Services Ltd.

“We’re known for our local customer service and large group-insurance plans,” Wayne Romank, president of Allied Insurance Services, said in a news release. “When we decided to sell, finding a brokerage which provided local service and could meet the needs of our groups was important.”

Romank described BrokerLink has having “the best of both worlds” when it comes to local service and scale.

“They have local offices, and the scale to serve our groups,” he said. “Our customers will continue to get personalized, high-quality service.”

“Every brokerage has a specific way of operating,” said BrokerLink president Joe D’Annunzio. “Our scale brings resources, including insurance experts, which allows us to quickly get up to speed so we can meet customer and employee needs.”

BrokerLink also expanded its presence in Alberta this month by acquiring the Olds and Vermilion, Alta., books of business from Access Insurance Group Ltd.
