ci0717-telematicsCalgary-based insurance brokerage InsureMy Inc. has become the exclusive Canadian distributor of a telematics offering aimed at young drivers.

The Drive With Carrot app—park of UK auto insurer Carrot’s New Driver program—allows new drivers to track and self-regulate their driving behaviour. Drivers get a score for each trip and recommendations on how they can improve their driving habits. They can also receive cash rewards for good driving habits issued through a reloadable credit card, with the potential to earn a maximum of $200 per year.

“The partnership with Trak Global just made sense,” Hugh McTavish, president of InsureMy, said in a news release. “They’ve implemented this program in the UK and countries across the globe with stellar results.”

InsureMy has offices in Calgary and Kitchener, Ont.
