Copyright: 123RF.com / everythingpossibleCSIO is warning brokers to prepare for the possibility of a Canada Post strike as early as Sept. 26.

If a strike or lockout occurs, mail delivery will cease, including the delivery of insurance documents to policyholders. CSIO is encouraging brokers to open lines of communication with their staff, customers and trading partners, and know what their carriers’ processes will be in the event of a strike.

Brokers can also send digital proof of insurance to clients through email or CSIO’s My Proof of Insurance eDelivery solution.

“Brokers need to be prepared to offer digital alternatives to their clients,” Catherine Smola, president and CEO of CSIO, said in a news release. “Today’s consumers want service to be instant and at their convenience. Asking clients to take time from their schedule to pick up paper documents and pink slips is not the ideal experience they expect.”

My Proof of Insurance is available at no additional cost to CSIO members, and integrates with many BMS systems.
