Five jailed in UK’s biggest car insurance fraud investigation

Five people have been convicted in the UK’s biggest car insurance fraud investigation. Two people were found not guilty.

They were found guilty of making six fraudulent claims worth 144,000 pounds between 2009 and 2011.

In total, their activities costed the insurance industry 763,068 pounds.

But the fraudsters provided their own undoing, when their CCTV caught them driving a Land Rover into a forklift to look like an accident.

The five have been sentenced to jail for two to six years.
