The system that allows Ontario insurers and health providers to trade auto health claim information will be back on a test basis next year.

The Health Claims for Auto Insurance (HCAI) system, which exchanges claims information—including treatment plans, approvals and invoices—has been offline since the spring. Earlier this week, the IBC’s Board of Directors approved a reintroduction plan for the system, which it plans to put it in motion “immediately,” according to an IBC statement. The board didn’t give specific dates for the relaunch, but noted a test site would be available next summer, “well in advance of the reintroduction of the live system.”

As the system goes back up, it will be subject to quality control audits and stress testing, according to the IBC’s statement.
