MBC Group acquires Claim Assist

MBC Group announced on Tuesday its acquisition of Claim Assist, a provider of small post-loss appraisal, ladder assistance, mediation services and industry education across Canada.

“This acquisition enables the MBC Group to provide the broadest post-lost appraisal services in Canada from ladder assist to low and mid-market property losses through to large loss, commercial and industrial property losses,” MBC Group chief operating officer Ross Huartt said in a news release.

Established in 2015, Claim Assist provides training to appraisers and adjusters across the country. They are the exclusive Xactimate Trainer for the Insurance Institute of Canada and the exclusive Canadian Haag Certified Inspector (HCI) program provider.

“We are very proud to join the MBC Group,” said Claim Assist president Pat Foisey. “The quality of service MBC Group provides aligns with our own high customer service standards, which means we will be able to continue to provide efficient, impartial, and effective support to the insurance industry.”
