mergersCapri and CMW Insurance have rebranded as CapriCMW, effective January 1, 2018.

The two B.C.-based brokerages merged last year, forming one of the largest independent, employee-owned brokerages in Western Canada. The firms have a combined 63 years of experience in insurance and risk management.

CapriCMW co-president Tim Miller—previously the president of Capri—said that remaining independent was important to both brokerages.

“With so many small companies being acquired by large multinationals, it was important for us to maintain the trust and relationships we’ve developed over the years,” Miller said in a news release. “As CapriCMW, we remain a local, independent company that offers unfiltered, unbiased advice in the best interest of each and every client.”

CapriCMW has also launched a website with the new branding.

“The new name and brand provides us with a strong, unified identity and presence that reflects who we are today and into the future,” said Andrew Kemp, co-president of CapriCMW and the former president of CMW. “We are well-positioned for continued growth and new opportunities, creating long-term value for our employees, clients, industry partners and communities.”
