Trisura executive announces retirement

Copyright: TrisuraJanet Mascitelli, vice-president of Trisura’s surety business, has announced her retirement after a 32-year career in the insurance industry, effective March 1.

Mascitelli joined Trisura when it was a new startup back in 2006, and played a large part in helping the insurer build and lead its surety team in Toronto. Initially working on contract surety, she eventually transitioned into developer surety.

“We extend our utmost thanks and gratitude for having benefited from Janet’s expertise, compassion and mentorship,” the company said in a news release issued on Tuesday. “We wish her and her family the very best as she ventures into this he next stage of her life.”

Mascitelli began her career in her hometown of Saint John, NB, working at CIBC before accepting a role as a financial analyst with GCNA in Toronto. From there, she became a contract surety underwriter and was one of only a few women in the field at the time.

“Janet has been a great teacher and mentor to all the underwriters that worked for her, and a great friend, colleague and inner conscience to everyone that worked alongside her,” Trisura said.
