As if stronger and more frequent hurricanes weren’t enough, there’s another catastrophe that’s getting worse thanks to climate change: lightning.
As reported by Bloomberg, a study in the journal Science says that “all that extra energy and moisture in the atmosphere these days may mean more lightning.”

The study’s authors say that lightning strikes over the continental U.S. could increase by 50 percent this century.
