mergers-01Regina-based brokerage Harvard Western Insurance has acquired Hoff Insurance, a full-service brokerage with four locations in southern Saskatchewan.

“They actually approached us,” Dave Pettigrew, president and CEO of Harvard Western Insurance, told Canadian Insurance Top Broker. “They wanted to be part of a larger brokerage and I’ve known Devon, the owner, and his family for a lot of years, and we just thought it was a nice fit.”

In a news release, Hoff Insurance said that joining Harvard Western “allows us to access a much larger variety of insurance companies and products, as well as a significantly larger team of specialists.”

“[Hoff Insurance is] in more of a rural, smaller-communities market just immediately to the south of Regina, so their market really meshed nicely with ours,” Pettigrew said.

All members of the Hoff team will remain with the company, which will rebrand as Harvard Western Insurance next year.
