blue skyWomen in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) will be making a special presentation at the Canadian Cancer Society’s upcoming Toronto Relay for Life event to honour six-time Relay For Life participant Susan Walsh, who died of cancer on April 20, 2018.

“Susan Walsh was an inspiration in her battle against cancer,” Marilyn Horrick, co-chair of WICC Ontario, said in a news release. “Individually, she raised over $26,500 for the Canadian Cancer Society, and her team, Team Susan, raised over $46,000. She believed that research is the key, which is why WICC and the insurance industry are suiting up for the 10th year in a row to support this life-changing cause.”

WICC is Canada’s largest not-for-profit donor to the Canadian Cancer Society.

This year’s Toronto Relay for Life event takes place at Downsview on June 15. It is expected to attract 1,000 participants from the Greater Toronto Are (GTA) who will walk the park’s track in honour of survivors and those who have lost their lives to cancer. All funds raised will go toward cancer research in Canada. This year’s fundraising goal is $400,000.
