How would a M9.0 Megathrust earthquake affect the Insurance Industry?

Thousands of people around the globe suffer from the effects of earthquakes every year. Some cities have been devastated after major events, such as in the case of Chile, Japan, Christchurch and most recently Mexico City. Governments and institutions are continuously promoting awareness and preparedness. Understanding what an earthquake is and how it could affect the west coast would help us minimizing the impact. The seminar will be presented from an insurance adjuster and structural engineer’s perspective.
