TORONTO, ON, Oct. 17, 2018/insPRESS/ – Markel Canada has appointed Aaron Carfagnini Assistant Vice President and Product Line Leader, Environmental, Chris Kelen Assistant Vice President and Product Line Leader, Professional & Financial Risks, and Chris McDonald Senior Underwriter, Professional Liability.
Aaron has accountability for the overall performance of the environmental product line, including responsibility for business planning and product and market development. In addition, he is responsible for the Central Region Environmental department. Aaron began his career as a senior environmental scientist with ECOH Management. Since joining the insurance industry he has worked in progressively senior environmental underwriting roles with AIG, Premier Group, Burns & Wilcox and was most recently with Zurich Canada as an Underwriting Specialist
Chris Kellen has accountability for the performance of the Professional and Financial Risk product lines, including responsibility for business planning as well as product and market development. Leading the PFR team, Chris will also work in partnership with Markel International and Markel Syndicate 3000 on Canadian-domiciled wholesale business. Starting his career as a D&O underwriter with Chubb, Chris joins us from AIG where he held progressive underwriting and management roles in professional lines, most recently Assistant Manager, Financial Lines.
Chris McDonald joins the team charged with the development and maintenance of a profitable portfolio of business through marketing, sales, service and underwriting. Chris joined ENCON Group in 2003 in claims before transitioning to underwriting. He brings to the role more than 14 years of D&O and E&O underwriting experience. Chris resides in Ottawa thereby providing Markel Canada the opportunity to extend our geographic reach and personal service to our brokers.
