GUS Expands in BC with the Addition of Kootenay Disaster Restorations to Network

September 5, 2019   by GUS

René-Charles Landry, President of GUS (www.gus.ca) is pleased to announce that Kootenay Disaster Restorations Ltd. has successfully partnered with GUS as the rapidly growing post-disaster restoration network continues to expand across the province of BC. The addition of Kootenay Disaster Restorations adds two new locations to the GUS network in Kimberley and Invermere, continuing to strengthen GUS’s foothold in the BC market.

Kootenay Disaster Restorations is a full-service restoration company specializing in fire, smoke, wind and water damage restoration and mold remediation for residential, commercial, and industrial property owners. KDR opened its first location in Kimberley in 2015; just a year later, demand for their particular brand of service necessitated opening a second location in Invermere. They have quickly become a fixture in Kimberley, recently voted Kootenay Magazine’s 2018 Kimberley Best of Business Winner for Disaster Restoration Company by members of their community.

Travis Fooks, Owner of Kootenay Disaster Restorations, has worked in the construction industry for over 20 years. After being self-employed as a renovation contractor, Travis decided to switch his focus to restoration work, finding it rewarding to help people rebuild their lives after disaster strikes. “We built our business on providing our customers with premium service within efficient timelines,” said Travis. “Our team has worked very hard these past few years to develop a strong reputation in the Kootenay region for service excellence. Now, as a part of a national network with GUS, we have the opportunity to expand our customer base even further and help more people in need of our specialized services.”

Alain Johnson, Owner of Kootenay Disaster Restorations, left his corporate management position to start his own restoration business eight years ago. For some time Alain was sub-contracting work out to Travis, then eventually the two decided to team up and open KDR together.  “Our focus at KDR has always been on providing strong and consistent communication and transparency to our customers and our insurance partners. When a customer suffers a loss and comes to us for help, we strive to keep them informed on every step so they are involved in the entire process and can have peace of mind,” said Alain. “We are excited to have a like-minded partner in GUS who understands and shares our values of delivering exceptional service and quality to our clients. All of us at KDR are very happy to be part of the GUS team.”

René-Charles Landry, President of GUS, comments, “Alain and Travis and the team at KDR are hardworking, skilled professionals, and truly genuine and honest people. What sets them apart from other restoration companies and earns them their stellar reputation is their compassion and personalized approach to each project. The KDR team is a valuable addition to our network, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to welcome them to the GUS family.”
