Catastrophe Response Unit will be hosting the next in our series of Earthquake Response Seminars for Property and Casualty insurance executives at the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver on Tuesday, August 26th. The seminar will start with a 7:30 breakfast followed by three presentations from industry experts and ending with a chance for you to ask all your questions and get answers from the leaders with a finish before 9:30 AM.
The focus for these presentations will be in learning the unique earthquake issues and understanding the challenges that will potentially disrupt an effective and realistic insurance company response plan, including OSFI requirements. Presenters will include scientific discussions from the Institute of Catastrophic Loss Reduction (ICLR).
Topics will help attendees to evaluate their organization beyond the “traditional” catastrophe preparations that we have seen challenged in 2013 and 2014, including infrastructure workarounds (transportation, hydro, housing, and communications), expert and support resourcing, challenges in claims processing and the preparation required to meet the needs and expectations of today’s customers/policyholders.
