Janice M. Tomlinson Receives Inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award from Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade

Toronto, ON, January 21, 2010 Janice M. Tomlinson, former President of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada was awarded the inaugural Women In Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC) Lifetime Achievement Award at a retirement event in her honour on Wednesday, December 9th at the National Club. Ms. Tomlinson is a former Co-Chair of WICC.

WICC Ontario Co-Chairs Carolyn Horan and Jean Faulkner recognized Tomlinson’s dedication, passion and support of the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade mission, “…this award symbolizes the contributions Jan has made throughout her career in helping to establish WICC in Ontario and across Canada. Jan’s commitment to WICC and to combining charity within her corporation’s culture is what makes her the perfect candidate for this award.”

The award recognized Ms. Tomlinsons dedication, passion and support of WICC and her redefining the Chubb corporate culture to include charity work.

Ms. Tomlinson was Chairman and President of Chubb Insurance Company of Canada from 1995 through 2003. Most recently she was Executive Vice President and International Field Operations Manager of Chubb & Son Inc. a division of Federal Insurance Company located in Warren, New Jersey before retiring at the end of last year. She had been a Chubb employee since 1973.

She increased Chubb’s strength and visibility as a global insurer by building trusted relationships worldwide, implementing business strategies tailored to local markets, and promoting standards that have led to consistent recognition for workplace quality and service excellence.

The Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade was formed in 1996 by a group of concerned insurance women and men who felt that it was important to support colleagues and their families in the fight against cancer. Not only is WICC dedicated to raising funds for cancer research, WICC also provides educational forums for the industry on how to support those affected by the disease.
