TORONTO, June 8, 2018 /insPRESS/ – Strigberger Brown Armstrong LLP congratulates its team member, Laura Emmett, on beginning her role as President of the Canadian Defence Lawyers.
“I’m thrilled to be the President of the only national organization that represents the interests of civil defence lawyers,” said Ms. Emmett, ”and particularly proud that there is equal gender representation on this year’s Board of Directors.”
Previously CDL’s first Vice President, Laura takes over from Jade Spalding. As the youngest CDL president in the association’s history, Laura will bring the same enthusiasm and dedication to the position as she does her thriving practice. The firm applauds Laura’s continued commitment to advancing the interests of the Defence Bar in Canada.
Laura will continue to work out of the firm’s Waterloo office. Her practice includes all aspects of general insurance litigation with a particular interest in cyber insurance, bodily injury, and drone regulation. In addition to being the President of the Canadian Defence Lawyers Association, she is the co-author of a Annotated Statutory Accident Benefits textbook, and an adjunct professor at the University of Western Ontario law school.
Congratulations, Laura!
