Origin and Cause Structural Engineers, Adam Lohonyai and Yasser Korany, Receive Award at North American Masonry Conference

Toronto, ON, June 25, 2019/InsPress/ – We would like to extend our warmest congratulations to Forensic Structural Engineers, Adam Lohonyai and Yasser Korany who were presented with an Outstanding Technical Paper Award at the 13th North American Masonry Conference on June 18, 2019. Their article, “Analysis of Field-Measured Reversible Deformations in Masonry Cavity Walls” was published in Vol. 33, No. 1 of The Masonry Society Journal, a publication dedicated to research, construction, materials, and design of masonry.
In the 38-year history of the Journal, only 26 papers have been recognized as “outstanding.” This is a truly remarkable achievement and we are extremely proud of our colleagues, Adam and Yasser. They are a credit to our team and the entire industry.
Adam specializes in structural forensic investigation and holds a Master of Engineering degree from the University of Alberta. He is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario and Alberta and to date has completed over 200 projects with Origin and Cause. Adam’s background includes work as a structural engineer providing service for new building construction, personal fall arrest systems, roll-over protection systems, structural assessments, repairs, and failure investigations.
Yasser Korany, Ph.D., P.Eng., LEED® AP
Yasser specializes in structural forensic investigation and has performed more than 400 investigations to date. Throughout his career, Yasser has applied his unique combination of laboratory and field experience to identify the cause of structural distress and failures for institutional and commercial facilities, residential buildings and parking garages. His engineering practice spans more than 25 years, and he is a licensed professional engineer in Ontario, Alberta and the State of Michigan.
