The Guarantee funds a new Starlight Fun Center at Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital

TORONTO, September 12, 2014 – Thanks to The Guarantee Company of North America’s (The Guarantee) generous support, Holland Bloorview Kids Rehabilitation Hospital has received a new Fun Center designed by Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada to help brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. This is The Guarantee’s second year as a Starlight Fun Center sponsor.

The Starlight Fun Center is a mobile unit offering kids endless hours of entertainment therapy – from watching DVD movies on a flat-screen TV, to playing a wide variety of Nintendo Wii™ games. Whether hospitalized children are nervously awaiting surgery, sitting restlessly during a long treatment, or feeling lonely in their hospital room, the Starlight Fun Center helps them cope by providing entertainment and distraction. The media units can be easily wheeled into ICUs, emergency departments or individual hospital rooms for children who are unable to leave their own beds.

Additionally, The Guarantee has been a President’s Level Sponsor of the Starlight Insurance Gala for the past two years, pledging a total of $20,000 to Starlight Children’s Foundation Canada in that time.
