Insurance software provider Applied Systems announced Wednesday the general release of Epic 7, the latest version of the company’s broker management system.

Applied

This is the first time Applied’s Epic system has been commercially available to brokerages in Canada. Earlier this month, Applied held a launch event in Toronto to explain some of the new elements of the system to the broker community.

Some changes include:

  • New automated workflows to streamline operations and provide easier access to client information in the system
  • Enhanced electronic data exchange between agencies/brokerages and carriers
  • More advanced accounting capabilities, including cash receipt adjustments, and taxes and fees
  • Additional ACORD forms and CSIO forms for Canadian brokerages for standardization and compliance with industry regulations
  • Support for current Microsoft software, including Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 10

“This release of Applied Epic 7 is another example of our commitment to innovation and developing the most advanced technology for the insurance industry,” Reid French, the company’s CEO noted in the announcement.

“We continue to expand our offerings with solutions that drive greater value for our customers and are pleased to now provide the most advanced agency management system in Applied Epic 7 throughout North America.”

Alberta-based brokerage Western Financial Group, which has more than 120 locations, has already begun implementing Epic 7 across its network. In a blog post, the company’s president and CEO, Jeff Burke, noted that new technology will be the most important element of Western’s growth.

“A software system alone is not going to catapult any company in front of its competition,” he wrote. “Rather, it provides a foundation for success and growth.”
