Applied Systems has obtained certification for eDocs from the Centre for the Study of Insurance Operations, the first vendor to do so, CSIO said Monday.

CSIO Certification is available to member insurance companies and vendors and eDocs is the first business activity available for certification, with plans to expand the program to cover other activities.

“Applied Systems is pleased to be recognized as the first insurance technology vendor to receive the CSIO eDocs Certification for both Applied Epic and Applied TAM,” Jeff Purdy, senior vice president of international operations at Applied Systems noted in the announcement.

“The ability to move documents electronically from insurer to broker to consumer is critically important in today’s ever-changing marketplace.  Participation in the CSIO Certification process reinforces Applied Systems’ continued commitment to the industry and the enhancement of standards for document distribution and efficiency.”

CSIO says its data exchange standards are company-neutral and help solve data compatibility issues, facilitate more efficient and seamless integration of information and improve implementation of technology solutions.

“As an increasing number of brokers across Canada adopt CSIO eDocs, the need for consistency in standards implementation becomes vital to the competiveness of the broker channel,” Catherine Smola, president and CEO of CSIO noted in its statement.

“We applaud Applied Systems on being the first technology vendor to receive CSIO Certification for eDocs, signifying its commitment to delivering automated workflows that serve customers faster and more efficiently.”
