The insurance coverage on the Boeing 777 that crashed in San Francisco on July 6 is about $2.3 billion, a Singapore news outlet has reported.

Asia Insurance Review reported Monday that “10 Korean insurers share about 4% of the insurance coverage for the plane, with the remaining undertaken by some 30 foreign reinsurers,” citing information reported in the South Korean press.

“The amount includes coverage of US$130 million on the body and US$3 million in crew liability coverage,” the article said. “Up to US$2.2 billion may be paid out on facility damages and human casualties.”

Those figures are the maximum, and the total costs have not yet been determined, the article noted.

The aircraft owned by Asiana Airlines crashed while landing at the San Francisco International Airport on July 6. Two passengers were killed and more than 180 others were injured, according to reports.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board is now investigating the crash.
