Property and casualty insurance brokerage BrokerLink has announced the acquisition of the ownership position in Anthony Clark Insurance Brokers Ltd (ACI), previously held by Anthony Clark International Insurance Brokers Ltd.

“ACI is a natural fit with BrokerLink. Their existing personal insurance and group programs compliment our own,” Chris Miller, head of the Alberta region at BrokerLink said in a press release Friday.

“Not only does this transaction support our strategy for growth, but ACI’s sales focus combined with BrokerLink’s scale and efficiencies will benefit both operations.”

Based in Calgary, Anthony Clark Insurance Brokers Ltd. operates six locations in Alberta through Anthony Clark Insurance, Dyck Insurance, and Heritage Hills Insurance.

“Our customer relationships are based on the quality of our insurance products, our broker knowledge and commitment to excellent service,” Tony Consalvo, president and CEO of ACI added in the statement. “BrokerLink’s investment in technology and training, expertise in mass marketing, and operational support will make it easier to continue serving the needs of our customers.”

“We have a strong reputation for our personal insurance programs. We look forward to further developing our offerings to businesses with BrokerLink’s commercial insurance expertise and established programs,” he also  noted. Consalvo will join BrokerLink as a regional branch manager.

Established in 1991, the BrokerLink companies, which include Canada Brokerlink Inc., Canada Brokerlink (Ontario) Inc. and Macdonald Chisholm Trask Insurance, together operate 97 offices with more than 950 employees across Ontario, Alberta and Atlantic Canada, according to the company’s website. The BrokerLink companies are subsidiaries of Intact Financial Corporation.
