Burns & Wilcox Canada has entered into an exclusive agreement with Node International to distribute comprehensive cyber liability insurance, a move the former characterizes as “fusing cyber security tactics and insurance like never before.”

The agreement means the managing general agent will be the sole wholesaler of Node International’s cyber liability policy offerings. London-based Node International, an offshoot of Charles Taylor Plc, offers policies including insurance and cyber security measures.

The partnership brings together insurance and security “for a true enterprise approach that is accessible to companies of all sizes, the way it should be done,” Jodie Kaufman Davis, corporate vice president and managing director of Burns & Wilcox Canada, comments in a company statement.

“This is service rarely seen in the small to mid-sized space,” David Derigiotis, corporate vice president and director of the Professional Liability Centre of Excellence, Burns & Wilcox, suggests in the statement.

“Adding the expertise of Node International to our highly specialized group will not only provide more security, but peace-of-mind for our partners and their clients,” Derigiotis continues.

Burns & Wilcox Canada reports that for brokers interested in placing cyber liability coverage for their clients, an application process will show the vulnerabilities of a client’s IT system and provide a quote.

“With policy coverage, Node will provide 24/7 monitoring of their systems and fix any issues that may otherwise open a company up to a cyber attack,” the statement adds.

Unique relationships like the one with Node International “are just a few of the many reasons why our Professional Liability Centre of Excellence and other groups within Burns & Wilcox Canada continues to trend upward,” Kaufman comments.
