The Manitoba and south central Ontario branches of the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) announced on Tuesday their formal intention to merge.
CAA Manitoba and CAA South Central Ontario (CAA SCO) said in a statement from the latter that the proposed merger will occur on Sept. 30, subject to member and regulatory approvals.
The two companies will continue to operate under their current respective brands. The merger will enhance roadside assistance, travel and insurance services in both Manitoba and Ontario. “CAA Manitoba and CAA SCO remain committed to member safety and offering exceptional member service,” the statement said.
“This new partnership will be built on our greatest asset – our trusted brand,” said Mike Mager, president & CEO, CAA Manitoba, in the statement. “By bringing together two successful CAA clubs, both are better positioned to offer an even higher calibre array of products and services that are essential to our members’ safety and peace of mind.”
CAA SCO’s president & CEO, Jay Woo, agreed that the ability to work together to provide a superior member experience is exciting. “Today marks a major milestone in our long and rich history,” he said. “The combination of resources and expertise will deliver greater capabilities, innovations and advocacy expertise to keep our members and their loved ones safe.”
CAA SCO is one of nine auto clubs across Canada providing roadside assistance, travel, insurance services and member savings for two million members.
