CNA Canada has appointed Greg Metcalfe as senior vice president and chief financial officer.

In this role, he will be responsible for leading the finance and IT functions for CNA Canada. Metcalfe will report to Nick Creatura, president and CEO of CNA Canada.

“I’m very excited to have Greg join our team as his financial acumen, leadership and communications skills make him ideally suited to assume a leading role in advancing our business,” Creatura said in a statement. “Greg is one of the top financial executives in the Canadian P&C industry and a great addition to the team.”

Metcalfe has more than 20 years of executive level experience in the insurance industry, including international experience from previous roles in Japan, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. Immediately prior to joining CNA Canada, Metcalfe served as CFO of Arthur J. Gallagher Canada. Before that, he was vice president of finance at Noraxis Capital Corporation, following a number of increasingly senior roles at RSA.

“I’m thrilled to join CNA Canada at the time when the company is making significant investment in talent and technology to support its continued growth,” says Metcalfe. “I look forward to spearheading a number of strategic initiatives that will help the company and customers thrive in today’s ever-changing industry.”

A Chartered Accountant, Metcalfe has a Bachelor of Commerce Degree.

With more than $45 billion in assets, CNA is the eighth-largest commercial insurer in the United States. It provides a broad range of standard and specialized property and casualty insurance products and services for businesses and professionals in the U.S., Canada, Europe and Asia.
