United States-based Crawford & Company has expanded its aviation expertise with the recent acquisition of GAB Robins, a move demonstrating Crawford’s commitment to the aviation industry and one that will allow the company to offer clients a wider range of disciplines.

Crawford Global Technical Services’ new global aviation team is now made up of more than 45 surveyors

Crawford Global Technical Services (GTS) last week officially launched its new global aviation team, now made up of more than 45 surveyors with a wider range of aviation skills. Following Crawford’s acquisition GAB Robins, the aviation units of both companies have been merged.

The new aviation team is led by GTS’s CEO Trevor Light and its chief operating officer Chris Wright, both based in the United Kingdom. GTS has offices around the world, as well as a comprehensive presence in the U.S., notes a statement from Crawford & Company, the world’s largest independent provider of claims management solutions to the risk management and insurance industry, as well as self-insured entities.

“Crawford is committed to the aviation sector and has plans for future investment,” Light says in the statement. Noting that Crawford GTS is now “able to offer our clients a wider range of disciplines,” he points out “it is one of our key strategic goals to invest in highly experienced specialist skills and to leverage the power of our expanding global GTS adjusting powerhouse.”

The GAB Robins acquisition means Crawford “employees now span the globe and are unified in our drive to deliver excellent professional services,” Light adds.

In early June, Crawford & Company (Canada) Inc.’s announced that with the recent amalgamation of the global Crawford Specialty markets group with the GTS unit, Paul Hancock, vice president of GTS Canada, had been appointed to head the merged division in Canada.

“GTS has expanded its service offerings to incorporate cyber risk, forensic accounting and environmental services, aviation and energy, and it has further broadened its marine and cargo services capabilities through the addition of highly qualified surveyors who possess extensive cargo and hull loss expertise,” Hancock said at the time.

“We are committed to providing innovative service solutions and bringing to the forefront new service offerings that address market demands,” he added.

Canada’s ever-expanding national network of GTS professionals consists of more than 70 GTS adjusters across Canada.
