Crawford Adjusters Canada reports it has been appointed to handle claims administration for the class action settlement of a recalled hip implant.
The independent adjuster’s Montreal-based team, “Crawford Expertises Canada”, was appointed by a justice of the Quebec Superior Court to handle claims relating to the “Centerpulse” hip implant. The implants were recalled in December 2002, initiating a class action suit.
Crawford CEO Glenn Gibson notes that a public awareness campaign has started to let potential class members know of the settlement so that they can register to make a claim.
“Crawford has been working closely with the courts and all counsel to finalize the details of this settlement administration for the past several weeks,” explains Kerry Eaton, vice president of Crawford Class Action Services. “Our staff are ready to begin processing claims in both official languages as soon as they are received.”
In the past, Crawford has worked on the administration of claims for class action cases including the Walkerton Compensation Plan, Ontario Dow Corning breast implant settlement and Hepatitis C settlement.
